Samir El Jisr is an experienced lawyer with a diverse background in both private practice and public service.
After several years in private practice, Samir El Jisr was elected by his peers as president of the Tripoli Bar Association (1994 – 1996). He was later appointed as minister of Justice (2000 – 2003) and minister of Education and Higher Education (2003-2004). He was also elected as member of the Lebanese Parliament from (2005 – 2022), president of the Parliamentary Committee of Defence (2007 – 2022) and member of the Parliamentary Committee for Administration and Justice (2005 – 2022).
During his several public office mandates, Samir El Jisr has been very active in public work and had a significant contribution to legislative and regulatory activity in Lebanon including through his participation in Parliamentary Committees, the Updating Laws Committee and Updating Rental Law Special Committee.
In addition to his work in public service, Samir El Jisr has also maintained an active private practice. He has represented local and regional clients in a variety of industries, including banking, real estate, and healthcare, and has been recognized for his expertise in public law and complex civil and commercial litigation.
